What Foot.run is
Foot.run is a small, independent site about running feet: which shoes suit which feet, and what to make of the aches that show up when training builds. It exists because the two worlds it connects rarely meet. Shoe advice is mostly marketing and hype cycles, while clinical foot advice mostly lives behind an appointment. We publish the overlap: educational, evidence-aware guidance that helps you pick better shoes and understand common running injuries well enough to know when self-care is reasonable and when it is not.
How the review process works
Content on Foot.run is researched and written by the Foot.run team. Before anything with medical content publishes, it is reviewed for accuracy by our medical reviewer, a licensed podiatrist in California. The review checks the anatomy, the claims, and the red flags: the symptoms that should send a reader to a clinician instead of a shoe store. Every guide shows the month it was last reviewed, and the standard behind every review is the same whether or not a name is attached to it.
This is deliberately a review model, not a personal advice column. Our reviewer does not write the articles, does not answer reader questions, and does not provide care through this site. Foot.run publishes general education only, and nothing here creates a clinician-patient relationship.
Our medical reviewer
All medical content on Foot.run is medically reviewed by a licensed podiatrist in California who practices in a hospital setting. Review covers medical accuracy only; the Foot.run team researches and writes every article.
How we pick products
Shoe recommendations start from foot mechanics: what a given foot type needs, then which current models deliver it. We weigh manufacturer specifications, fit and width availability, durability reports, and clinical reasoning about who a shoe suits. Foot.run is reader-supported: when you buy through links on this site we may earn an affiliate commission at no extra cost to you, including through the Amazon Associates program. Commissions never decide a ranking, and we do not accept payment for placement.
Important limits
Foot.run provides general education about running and foot health. It is not medical advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it does not replace care from your own clinician, who can examine you and knows your history. If you have persistent pain, numbness, or an injury that changes how you walk, please see a podiatrist in person.
Contact
Questions, corrections, or a foot topic you'd like us to cover: hello@foot.run. We read everything, and corrections from clinicians are especially welcome. Please note: hello@foot.run is not for medical advice, and we cannot answer questions about your own feet or recommend a clinician.
Manufacturers
To submit a shoe for review consideration, email dr@foot.run. Submissions do not guarantee coverage: every shoe is evaluated the same way, and commissions never decide a ranking.
